A new multipurpose facility located in the second phase is now open. Assuming the form of a traditional barn, the facility includes a fitness room, a reading room, and an upstairs game room. The fitness room includes commercial grade Precor cardiovascular equipment, a Paramount multistation weight machine, and a stretching and exercise area.
Tennis Courts Completed
Two tennis courts next to the Activities Center have been completed and are ready for play. Both courts feature a Flex Court surface (www.flexcourt.com) to decrease stress on leg joints and reduce maintenance costs. The courts also include a hitting wall and basketball goal, and can be easily adapted to volleyball.
Second Lake to be Constructed in 2008
A 15-acre lake will be constructed near the Activites Center during 2008. The lake will be stocked and will feature a swimming beach for all residents.
Overton Retreat Pavilion Wins Architectural Award
Out of 920 entries representing design projects across the United States, the Overton Retreat Pavilion received one of 29 awards in the Residential Architect Magazine 2006 Design Competition. The Pavilion was designed by Overton Retreat's master planner, Chip Webster, of CWA Architects (www.cwa-arch.com).
